Your IFC data stays in your control

How this standalone IFC asset-capture application handles models, photographs, local records, exports and support enquiries.

Summary

IFC Asset Capture is designed to process user-selected IFC models, asset values and photographs locally on your Apple device. The audited 1.0 application has no developer-operated user account, advertising SDK, third-party analytics or cloud model-processing service. Your IFCs and evidence are not automatically uploaded to us.

Effective date: 27 October 2026 · Operator: Jamie Ward

Files and asset information

When you select an IFC, the app reads the file, extracts component and type information, identifies model records using GlobalIds and stores a local project collection. It may store model names, hashes, captured values, review status, timestamps and notes in app-managed storage.

The original IFC is read-only in Asset Capture. Its project information is not transmitted to our servers.

Photographs and camera

Camera and Photos access are used only for user-initiated QR scanning and evidence capture or selection. Selected image pixels are processed locally and re-encoded for storage and export, without intentionally copying source GPS metadata. The app does not request location permission for this workflow.

Review each photograph and its content before sharing it; a photo itself may contain visible identifying information.

Data sharing and export

Data leaves the app when you deliberately export, share, copy or save an evidence ZIP, image or report to a location you choose. If you select iCloud Drive, Google Drive, OneDrive, email or another service, that provider processes the shared files under its own terms.

Evidence ZIPs include approved information and images, and omit pending photographs/field changes from approved records.

Local storage and deletion

Imported collections, captured fields, reviews and evidence are retained in app-controlled local storage until you delete a collection or otherwise remove application data. You can delete a selected collection using the in-app confirmation flow.

Deleting a collection does not delete original IFCs in Files or exports saved elsewhere. Files shared with external recipients cannot be removed by deleting an in-app collection.

Analytics, tracking and AI

In the audited 1.0 source, the app does not include an advertising network, cross-app tracker, third-party analytics SDK or a connected generative AI service. “Capture guidance” is offline help. The developer does not operate a background IFC upload service.

Apple may independently process App Store purchase information and certain device diagnostics under its own policies and user settings. We do not receive your payment-card details.

Support requests

If you email us or open a GitHub issue, you choose what information to provide. We use it to respond to your enquiry, understand the issue and improve the app. Email providers and GitHub handle this communication under their own terms.

Please do not post confidential models, site information or real photographs publicly. Request a private route before sending sensitive files.

Site and GitHub Pages

These public support and privacy webpages are hosted by GitHub Pages. They contain no developer-added advertising pixels, analytics code or tracking cookies. GitHub may process technical connection information such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the pages under GitHub’s privacy policy.

Visiting this site is separate from using the offline app.

Children, changes and security

This professional BIM utility is not directed to children. The app uses Apple application sandboxing and user-selected file access; no application can promise absolute security.

We may revise this policy if app features or data handling change, updating the effective date here. The version of the policy at the time you use the app applies to that version's stated practices.

Questions and contact

For privacy questions, information about app-managed storage or help with deleting a local collection, contact jamiepward@googlemail.com. You can also read the support guide.

This policy describes the currently audited standalone 1.0 app. Before public distribution, verify that the final signed binaries and App Store privacy questionnaire match these actual practices. Future connected services or SDKs would require a policy and disclosure update.
