IFC Query Studio Support
IFC Query Studio is a focused BIM data workbench for importing IFC models, querying model contents, inspecting IFC entities and exporting deterministic query results.
Getting Started
Open IFC Query Studio, choose Import IFC, then select a supported IFC file from Files on iPhone or iPad, or from the native file picker on macOS.
The app reads selected IFC files locally and builds a deterministic model index for entity counts, object search, property checks, classifications, quantities and spatial/storey queries where the data is available in the IFC file.
Supported Files
.ifcIFC STEP files.ifcziparchives where supported by the current build
If an IFCZIP cannot be read, unzip the file and import the contained .ifc file directly.
What You Can Query
- IFC entity types such as walls, doors, windows and spaces
- GlobalId and object names
- Missing names, missing GlobalIds and missing classifications
- Property set names, property names and property values
- Quantities, storeys, classifications and type assignments where present
Exports
Query results can be exported as CSV or JSON depending on the selected export option. Exports are generated from the deterministic parsed IFC data, not from estimated or AI-generated results.
Troubleshooting
- If a large IFC takes time to import, leave the app open while parsing completes.
- If a file fails to import, confirm it is a valid IFC STEP file.
- If expected properties are missing, check whether they are actually present in the source IFC export.
- If an IFCZIP fails, unzip it and import the
.ifcfile directly.
